Today is a big day in France, the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille which began the revolution 227 years ago.
The 14th July is a public holiday and is celebrated in a similar way to the 4th July in the USA. To make the most of it grab some beers, fire up the barbeque (assuming it’s sunny where you are), and gather your friends and family. Also, get on the website of your village/town/city and find your nearest fireworks display because the sky will be full of them tonight.
I don’t really want to say too much, just that I consider it a great priviledge to live and work in this country which has given me so much; a great job, great food, wine, friends, and above all, an incredible wife.
